84% Modal, 16% Recycled Polyester. 4-8 months to biodegrade in a landfill depending on soil conditions, but the Recycled Polyester portion will remain anywhere from 20-200 years.
What we love:
-Recycled Polyester is created by breaking down used plastic from plastic water bottles
-Energy and water usage are significantly decreased during Recycled Polyester’s production
-Modal fibers are extracted from naturally grown beechwood
-Modal fibers are biodegradable and compostable, allowing them to eventually revert back to nature
What we don’t love:
-We have limited traceability on the origin of these materials (but we’re working on it)
-Even though it’s recycled, Polyester is still plastic (and, unfortunately, cannot be recycled again)
