Environmental Impact
Fabrication
Approximately 80% of our clothing is produced in Peru through a vertical manufacturing process in partnership with WTS. The cotton we use is locally grown, hand-harvested, spun into yarn, knitted into fabric, and cut and sewn into garments, primarily in Lima. This "seed-to-garment" approach reduces transportation-related pollution and significantly lowers our carbon footprint compared to industry standards.
Our raw materials supply chain in Peru prioritizes responsible chemical management in cotton cultivation. This practice is vital for sustainable agriculture and the textile industry, as it minimizes soil and water contamination, safeguards the health of workers and local communities, and ensures compliance with consumer expectations and regulatory standards.
Our commitment to sustainability begins with our decision to produce in Peru, the native home of Pima Cotton. This fiber, cultivated by indigenous communities for thousands of years, holds deep cultural significance and is a cornerstone of Peru’s agricultural heritage. Pima Cotton is also environmentally efficient, requiring 50% less water to grow due to its drought tolerance. By using this fiber, we preserve a tradition that supports local economies and provides income opportunities for indigenous communities. Our partners work directly with these communities to uphold high-quality and ethical production standards.
Every fabric in our collection is thoughtfully chosen with intention and care. As we expand, we aim to incorporate more natural, recycled, organic, and regenerative fibers each season, ensuring our materials align with our sustainability goals.
When it comes to prints, we prioritize digital printing with pigment ink, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional methods. Digital printing generates 95% less waste, uses 60% less water, and consumes 55% fewer chemicals compared to rotary printing. Additionally, pigment ink allows us to skip water-intensive washing and high-energy steaming, reducing water usage by up to 60% and energy consumption by up to 30%. This process reflects our dedication to minimizing environmental impact while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Our focus is on creating high-quality, mindfully produced garments, with sustainability as an important part of our process. By producing 80% of our clothing in Peru, the native home of Pima Cotton, we reduce our carbon footprint through a localized "seed-to-garment" approach while honoring the region’s heritage. Key partners like San Ramon, Agro Pima - Idetex, and Recytex supply 75% of our raw materials, adhering to strict environmental and ethical standards. While sustainability is not our sole driving force, we strive to consider it at every step—whether through pesticide reduction, drought-tolerant cotton, or efficient digital printing. Our approach balances responsibility with practicality, supporting local communities and preserving traditions while ensuring the highest standards of quality and care.
