Serena Sweater
$480
89% Superfine Alpaca, 11% Recycled Polyamide. 1-5 years to biodegrade depending on the color and treatment of the yarn, but the synthetic portion will remain anywhere from 20-200 years.
What we love:
- Alpacas don’t overgraze and their droppings acts as a fertilizer to keep their land happy and healthy (overgrazed land releases carbon into the environment)
- Choosing Peruvian Alpaca for our sweaters preserves a tradition that provides income to many artisans and helps the local economy of the indigienous people of the Andes
- “Farm to garment”, all in Peru, which dramatically reduces the carbon footprint
What we don't love:
- Synthetic fibers have been added to our sweaters (to make the yarns more affordable and durable)
89% Superfine Alpaca, 11% Recycled Polyamide.
Garment care: We recommend using an environmentally friendly dry cleaner to handle your Alpaca knit sweaters.
Wear More, Wash Less:
We highly recommend taking your knits to an environmentally-friendly dry cleaner once a season (unless you love shrunken sweaters). Also opt for an eco-friendly fabric spray to freshen your knit between wears.
All sweaters pill no matter what, so have a sweater stone or fabric shaver ready. Always fold sweaters instead of hanging them, since hanging will warp the fabric over time. (And because those hanger bumps at the shoulders aren’t a good look on anyone…)
